The University at Buffalo’s Robert L. Brown History of Medicine Collection has made the rare Matzinger Collection available online, giving researchers worldwide access to documents from President William McKinley’s 1901 autopsy. The archive includes autopsy reports, medical notes and personal papers of Dr. Herman Matzinger, a UB medical professor who helped investigate McKinley’s death. The materials, many previously unknown, offer fresh insight into the president’s medical care and the official inquiry following his assassination in Buffalo.
