The UB Libraries host a variety of programs and events throughout the year designed to engage, inspire and support our students. From stress-busting visits with therapy dogs to creative book displays and hands-on activities like “Check Out a Plant” on Earth Day, there’s always something happening in the Libraries.

Alissa Ujie Diamond, UB assistant professor in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, will present research and teaching from the FORAGE Initiative. Through hands-on activities and discussion, participants will explore environmental histories, campus spaces and shared ways of imagining future possibilities. Part of the University Archives exhibition series, this program extends the conversation beyond Love Canal.

Therapy dogs will return to Abbott Library for monthly visits during the spring semester. The visits are designed to give students, faculty and staff a chance to take a break, reduce stress and enjoy the company of friendly dogs.

Take a creative break with this relaxed, drop-in drawing session featuring artifacts and medical books from the History of Medicine Collection. No art experience is needed. Come and go at your own pace, enjoy food and drinks, and spend a few minutes or longer observing, sketching, and engaging with historically rich materials in a welcoming, low-pressure setting.

Drop in and de-stress while designing and carving your own rubber stamp. We’ll provide supplies, instructions and guidance to help you create anything from a detailed design to a simple, playful image.
